I begin with loss

as sacred journeys do. Whether it is the earth “being without form and void” or a middle-aged man losing his way “in a dark wood” before a sign that reads “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here,” the journey begins with loss. The loss is both painful and necessary because without it the journey would never begin. Mine was a loss more ruthless than I could have imagined, but it set me in motion, and for that I am grateful. The road is now open, and I am healthy and free.

  1. So, I haven’t figured out if you’re just making a reference to the recent news on the disappearing bees, or if you’re seeking your huntress mother’s approval… Aristaeus, if I remember correctly, did journey to teach mortals to be civilized and make cheese… You do know that they’ll arrest you if you leave animal corpses laying around whether the bees return or not ;0) Will you teach me how to make cheese? 80)

  2. Dude, it’s all making cheese, and the bees will be back. Trust me on this one.
